a Rough Silk German band, which was founded in 1989. Its leader is the keyboardist Ferdy Doernberg (and later also the lead singer), much wider numbers of students with projects such as Dezperadoz. Rough Silk Debut album appeared in 1993. "Roots Of Hate" is a sure sign of what to expect from this band, but this is not material that should be taken as an example of Rough Silk. Melodic approach to metal, which presents the band in full appeared only in the later releases, but as happens in case of such a significant band Rough Silk adventure as we start from the beginning ...

"Roots Of Hate" is the debut album, Rough Silk, but I do not know if the album should start adventure with this team (it is worth even more, "Mephisto" and "Walls Of Never"). This is not a very inspiring album - although I like it. What truth is here, everything is what it ought to be - chwytliwość, lightness, good vocals, good job guitar and drums ... and the keys that are always present in music, Rough Silk, but let no one think that the Germans are the backbone of the music, be able to find here on the "lethal" salt on the windowsill. The album begins with a short intro, and follows the title track - chwytliwości can not refuse. And once you get used to hit choruses, because they are a frequent guest on the album. Continued good choruses, followed by the "In The Deep of the Night" and "Calls To The World", and then improving in the "When Thunder Roars," which takes place getter and fast melody. And when I have thought that the disc is in full swing to hit, "Candle In The Rain." Free, a bit tiresome ballad song, but this catchy - it's probably thanks to Barnett, who is performing better than well here. And to further honor the disc is already very good - "the rest of the" start track played at an average rate - Cemetery Dawn " traditionally a good chorus and an interesting "trite" riff verses and even a howl. Later chwytliwość rules - "Sentimental Trust" and "Wasteland Serenade" are two pieces that are clearly the best and most catchy choruses on the album. Momentary outage can be called a ballad, "Trough The Fire", but it's also a good piece, although it should not be in this place, because it interferes with a bit structure. "Ups And Downs" is a catchy chorus again ... and unfortunately this song starts up again a bit boring, because we come to yet another ballad "Why" and is followed by a very fast and energetic, "Eyes Of A Stranger" but przebojowością chwytliwości and it is here is not the best. The culmination of the album is a ballad (again) "Forever" and here, plus, for Ferdy Doernberg sits behind the piano, and John Barnett sings beautifully. Despite this, it was another ballad on the album it destroys all the other located on the "Roots Of Hate."

sum - worth listening to, because it's really good music, but there is nothing to tune for power metal, because I am here but I feel a lot more hard rock with good melodies. While hard rock is not binding, because Rough Silk from the very beginning there was a team that could definitely fit within a single species. It should reach for this album to listen hiciorów such as: "Calls To The World," "Sentimental Trust", "Wasteland Serenade," "Roots Of Hate", "Candle In The Rain" and "Forever."
