Review by Est

Razorwyre a New Zealand band, which was founded in 2009 (Chris and James back in 2008 is going to start their own band.) The band initially called Gaywyre - only in April 2010, musicians have come to the conclusion that it's time to change the name - since then, playing under the banner Razorwyre. At first ep "Coming Out" was bearing the logo Gaywyre (such artwork can be found even on MA).

The EP was reached for believing that as soon as I hear anything niewyróżniający to thrash you everywhere. But with the first disappeared somewhere they first thought. What immediately struck me was this element which makes me think of the first two albums, Iron Maiden - but what exactly is it? The music is completely different, faster, not so melodic. Mainly it comes to vocals that remind me of the style of Paul Di'Anno. The very sound of this album is already evident leap into the past - dirty, rough and harsh as heavy metal plates 80s. Pure thrash as such is not here, there are more old school heavy metal maintained at a rapid pace. It is a pity that the same material ep is quite short, because the whole is only 23 minutes of music, but it can be noted that the location of the metal scene for Razorwyre sure to be found. At the end of oldschool bands playing (I do not mean a garage pitolenia of amateur production) will always find a large community of fans who despise the modern varieties of metal. Regarding the same pieces - these are not some virtuoso performances, These are simple compositions, which are equipped with catchy riffs (probably the best can be found in the issue of "Suspiria"), a very good choruses with backing vocals, the singer has a good color and good handles piskami. And with all my favorites are songs such as "Party of Five", "Fuck You Tonight" and "Suspiria" - and the other numbers, they just disappear, just not catchy as soon as those mentioned.

Razorwyre is really a very promising band, which I hope will soon complete recorded material. Ep from 2009 is the most worthy each command to play heavy metal devotee and for metal maniacs of the '80s is almost obligatory item. New Zealanders have done a good job and would be their first full album was equally good.

Rating: 7.5 / 10
